The "Sonny Tougas National Bursary Program" announced the 2015 bursary winners on Friday, August 7th at the Canadian Professional Handlers Association (CPHA) Top Dogs Awards dinner held at the Edmonton Kennel Club show in Edmonton, Alberta.

Maurice 'Sonny' Tougas was an All Breed Judge and a CKC life member who stood for honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. Sonny was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice or freely share his knowledge. The bursary program, in honour of 'Sonny' Tougas, is designed to aid a deserving student in support of his / her educational objectives in the form of a post-secondary scholarship.

The 2015 bursary recipient is Hannah Keenes from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Applications for the 2016 "Sonny Fund" will be available from Larry Kereluke later this year or in early 2016. To all the generous people who support The Sonny Fund, a heartfelt thank you.
