| Jim purchased his first pedigree dog in 1963, a Boxer, which was the beginning of a 25 year association with that breed, including importing dogs from Canada and America, in addition to a successful interest in
Racing Greyhounds. He is a Life Member and Patron of the Adelaide Hills Kennel Club. Together with his wife Lyndall, success followed with Bearded Collies and more recently, Dachshunds (Long Haired) and Afghan Hounds. During 2010 they successfully campaigned Grand Champion Keaton Kosciusko (Standard Long Haired Dachshund) to Number 1 Dog All Breeds in Australia (DOLPS), also earning an invitation to compete as Australia's representative at the prestigious Eukanuba World Challenge in Paris and in March 2011 saw him crowned as Victoria’s Dog of The Year at Dogs Victoria 'Night of Nights' competition. Jim enjoys spending his time between judging, mentoring trainee judges and showing. Jim is an ANKC licensed All Breeds Judge. His judging assignments have taken him to all Australian States, USA, The Philippines, Thailand, Japan, South Africa, Sweden and New Zealand. His Specialty assignments have taken him to Canada and New Zealand as well as The Bearded Collie Club of England 'Beardie Spectacular' Open Show. Prior to his retirement, Jim was a Project Manager in the Power Industry and now enjoys judging and mentoring new judges. |
